Christmas On The Corner
It is the mission of Christmas on the Corner to help brighten the spirits of others during the holidays.
As a group of caring and spirited young philanthropists, we are dedicated to rekindling holiday joy and making a difference where we can. This coming December, we will be raising funds to benefit families at the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana. The house provides a temporary home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill or injured children hospitalized in the Indianapolis area. For a minimal cost, these families are able to reside in close proximity to the facility where their child is receiving the best care available.
At the same time, we hope to unite all persons in Broad Ripple and the surrounding area under the glow of a Christmas light display.
The main event will be held on Saturday, December 8th at a home in Broad Ripple; the site of a phenomenal light display (this same decorated house was actually featured in the Indianapolis Star last year). A multitude of activities for families to enjoy together, including pictures with Santa, cookie decorating, and holiday entertainment will be available. Holiday refreshments (hot chocolate and cookies) will also be served.
Caroling, donation collecting and general holiday cheer will also continue Monday through Thursday in the evenings the following two weeks (12/10-12/13 and 12/17-12/20).
Donations received during this third annual Christmas on the Corner will help the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana continue to provide a warm, safe, and comfortable environment for families during their child’s medical crisis. In addition, a few special holiday gifts will spread cheer to these families experiencing very difficult times.
Christmas on the Corner 2007 will bring the spirit of the holidays to Broad Ripple like never before and will offer an opportunity for Indianapolis families to add a new tradition to their holiday season; one that not only creates interactive holiday experiences, but one that also raises awareness towards the spirit of giving. We hope you will consider supporting our efforts and look forward to seeing you at Christmas on the Corner!
